Return & Refund Policy

1. Deposit Policy
A $500 deposit is required to reserve your puppy. The deposit is structured as follows:
- $100 is refundable if the buyer changes their mind before the puppy is ready for pickup or delivery
- $400 is non-refundable and covers reservation, care, and administrative costs associated with holding your puppy
2. Health-Related Returns
If a licensed veterinarian confirms a serious congenital defect within the reporting window outlined in our health guarantee, you are eligible for a full refund of the adoption fee. To qualify:
- The condition must be confirmed by a licensed veterinarian with written documentation
- The report must be submitted within the applicable reporting window
- The puppy must be returned to Doxie Pups Creek in good health and condition
The Buyer has 2 months (40 business days) from the date of receiving the puppy to have the puppy examined by a licensed veterinarian of the Buyer's choice. If during this period the Buyer discovers any hereditary health issues that Doxie Pups Creek was unaware of and had not previously disclosed prior to the purchase date, Doxie Pups Creek will be responsible to either replace the puppy with a Dachshund of similar value or refund the Buyer's purchase price in exchange for the puppy. Doxie Pups Creek shall not owe the Buyer any refund unless the puppy is returned to Doxie Pups Creek for our veterinarian to verify that the puppy does in fact have a hereditary condition.
3. Communicable Illness
If your puppy is diagnosed with a communicable illness within 14 days from the date of delivery, you are eligible for a full refund of the adoption fee, including transport costs. The puppy must be returned to Doxie Pups Creek in order to receive the refund. Veterinary documentation confirming the diagnosis is required.
4. Non-Refundable Situations
Refunds are not available in the following circumstances:
- Buyer remorse — change of heart after the puppy has been delivered or picked up
- Minor cosmetic preferences — size, color, or markings did not meet the buyer's expectations
- Missed reporting timelines — health concerns reported after the applicable guarantee window has closed
- Failure to follow care instructions — health issues resulting from improper care, feeding, or veterinary neglect
5. Replacement Puppy Option
In situations where you are eligible for a refund, you may instead opt for a replacement puppy of equal value from our next available litter. This option is available at no additional cost and is subject to litter availability and timing.
6. Refund Processing
Approved refunds are processed within 5–10 business days and will be returned via the original payment method. You will receive confirmation once the refund has been initiated.
7. Return Process
If you need to initiate a return, please follow these steps:
- Contact us first — reach out to discuss your situation before making any arrangements
- Provide veterinary documentation — all health-related returns require written documentation from a licensed veterinarian
- Return the puppy safely — the puppy must be returned to Doxie Pups Creek in good health. We will coordinate safe transport arrangements with you
